Maha Shivaratri, which refers to The Great Night of Shiva, is one of the most celebrated and famous carnival of Hinduism. On this occasion, people worship of lord Shiva (who is one of the three main gods) in Hinduism.
Let’s know the importance of Maha Shivaratri:
Maha Shivaratri is celebrated on 14th night of new moon in the month of Phalguna, which comes surround the months February and March. According to Hindu’s fork tales, this night is known for the union of God Shiva and Goddess shakti.
There’s some rituals and traditions of Maha Shivaratri.
Keep fast: In some parts of India masses keep fast for whole day and night of Maha Shivaratri and during it they prayer of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti.
Puja and Abhisheka: On this day, individuals go to temple and worship the lord. They also decorate their homes and temples.
Organize Fair: People organize fairs in temples and other religious places and hundreds of stoles related to religious things can be seen there. It’s just like cherry on cake because it is a good source of income as well; people make money by selling religious things and status, also it shows their creativity.
Chanting and Mantras: Masses chant mantras which refer to this divine spirit. With chanting they show their love and faith towards their divines, also these mantras and chanting provide them peace and keep their mind calm.

Shiva’s destructive power reminds the devotees how important transformation and changes are for the new happening things and development of humanity.
The Union of Shiva and Shakti illustrates that it’s not impossible for devotees to make union with their divine. Everything is possible if masses follow the spiritual path with a clean heart.
